Helicopter Main Rotor Gearbox Planet Gear Fatigue Crack Propagation Test Data Released 12 July 2023!
This includes more data than was original HUMS2023 Data Challenge dataset, and it is now conditionally available to everyone. A new note and extra-data was also added in March 2024. For full details see https://www.dst.defence.gov.au/our-technologies/helicopter-main-rotor-gearbox-planet-gear-fatigue-crack-propagation-test (opens in new tab). DSTG prepared a Data Challenge for the conference HUMS2023. During the test, a seeded EDM notch in the planet gear rim was successfully initiated into a real crack which was then propagated through the full width of the gear body. A vibration dataset was available to participants of HUMS2023 Data Challenge to detect, diagnose and trend the fault and its progression. The Data Challenge awarded the team which made the earliest convincing detection of the planet gear rim crack and the team that most accurately tracked the crack progression. The original dataset contains 526 Matlab files of 4-channel hunting tooth averaged data. The hunting tooth average is designed such that both the planet gear synchronous average and planet carrier synchronous average can be derived from it. The HUMS2023 Data Challenge dataset description has more detail on the challenge, dataset, and prizes. Note, the subsequent wider public release of data release announced at survishno2023 on 12th July 2023, is now live on the DST Website. This release contains more data than the original data challenge. See here for details. Past last updated 2024.05.01 14:50 Melbourne |
